About Me

Hi, I'm Mindy! I'm an American accent coach, English teacher, writer, and lifelong language enthusiast with approximately 7,000 lessons taught to students from around the world.

Before becoming an English teacher, I worked in architecture and design, but my love of languages and communication inevitably led me in a different direction. I speak French, Italian, and Spanish, so I know firsthand how challenging (and rewarding!) it can be to master unfamiliar sounds. I spent ten years struggling with the Spanish R before discovering how much faster I could improve with a good teacher!

I'm a certified Accent Specialist and TEFL teacher, and I love helping students discover the rhythm, music, and beauty of spoken English. Whether we're preparing for a professional presentation or just working toward more natural conversation, there's nothing more rewarding than watching my students make a breakthrough.  

My Approach

My philosophy is that learning an accent isn't about erasing your linguistic identity—it's about gaining greater control over it! I want you to have the tools to express yourself exactly as you intend, whether you're speaking in a meeting, telling a story, or chatting with friends.

We'll begin by identifying your specific pronunciation patterns and communication goals. From there, I'll design a personalized training plan with targeted exercises, listening practice, and plenty of real conversation. My lessons are relaxed, lively, and full of encouragement, but don't let the fun fool you—we'll work hard, too! I love getting into the little details of pronunciation, from individual sounds to the rhythm, intonation, and connected speech that make American English flow naturally. Some of my students love having every tiny detail corrected, while others prefer a gentler approach; we'll find the balance that helps you thrive.

Above all, I'll be your biggest cheerleader. I'll celebrate your breakthroughs, help you laugh through the inevitable mistakes, and keep challenging you to reach that next level!
