When Your Instructors Start Charging More Than You

Apr 21, 2026

I stay in touch with many of the instructors who have completed their certification through my program, and they often keep me posted on how things are going.

In the program, we spend a lot of time talking about the value of accent and communication training, and how to price and explain services in a way that makes that value clear and obvious to the right clients.

Over the last few months, I’ve started seeing something really exciting happen.

Several of my graduates are now charging more than I do.

And not just slightly more.

One instructor is now charging $275 for an assessment.
Another doubled her program rate to $3,000 after getting clear on how to structure it.
Another is charging $280 for a 50-minute session.

This is an incredibly proud moment for me.

Because it means they’re not just understanding the work—they’re communicating it clearly, positioning it well, and offering it in a way that people are genuinely ready to invest in.

To see instructors stepping into that and doing it for real… I just couldn’t keep it to myself.

I also know a lot of people wonder how successful this kind of work can actually be, so I wanted to share a few real-world examples of what I’m seeing right now.

So how did these instructors make this happen?

It’s not luck.

There is a real need for this type of work.

And once someone has a proven method to assess clients, structure sessions, and clearly explain what they do so the right people understand the value, everything starts to fall into place.

It usually looks something like this:

You get your first client.
Then another.
You start to predict speech patterns, so your assessments get stronger.
You get more comfortable with corrections, so your students make faster, more noticeable progress, which leads to referrals.

Over time, you fill your caseload and start a waitlist.
To keep things manageable, you raise your prices.

This is the pattern I’m seeing again and again.

I’ve always told the instructors in my programs that they can take this further than I have.

That’s exactly what I’m seeing happen, and I cannot wait to see more of it!

So… could you be next?

Could you be raising your rates a few months from now?
