Why LinkedIn Is the Easiest Place to Start (Even If You Have Zero Online Presence) Part 4/4

Part 4 of 4-Week Series: How to Build a Successful Accent Coaching Service (Even If You’re Starting from Scratch)

If you missed Parts 1, 2, or 3, you can find those here on the blog.

So many people love accents, language, and communication but never realize they can turn that passion into a high-value service people are happy to pay for.

Accent and communication training is one of the most in-demand, flexible, and low-overhead services you can offer. You can see students online or in person. You don’t need a big audience, expensive equipment, or another degree. You just need the right method and a simple way for the right people to find you.

This 4-week series walks you through the exact steps new instructors use to start working with paying students, even with zero experience.

This week’s topic is an easy one.

Part 4: If You Don’t Use Social Media for Your Business Yet, Start with LinkedIn

You don’t need a big audience, fancy branding, or daily content to get students.
You just need a place where the right people can see what you do and say, “I need this.”

If you already have a following on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube, stay consistent there and skip this step.

But if you’re just getting started as an accent coach and don’t want to dance on TikTok, here’s why LinkedIn might be your best friend.

Why LinkedIn Is a Goldmine for Accent Coaches

LinkedIn is made for professionals. That’s important, because your future students are working adults. People who rely on clear communication to succeed every day.

When they’re scrolling, they’re already thinking about:

• Nailing job interviews
• Speaking up in meetings
• Getting promoted
• Leading with confidence
• Improving how they sound

In other words, they’re already looking for the kind of results you help with.

So when your profile says:

“I help international professionals speak clearly and confidently in English,” they get it immediately and it feels relevant, professional, and helpful, not salesy.

Even if you’ve never posted a single video, your profile alone can act as your online business card (and it’s one that quietly sells your service while you sleep).

A Quick Word of Caution About Using the Word “Accent” on LinkedIn

Be thoughtful here. For many professionals, the word “accent” can feel sensitive or personal. The goal is to help, not make anyone feel judged.

Avoid phrases like:

• “Fix your accent”
• “Reduce your accent”

Instead, talk about:

• clear, professional communication
• speaking with confidence
• being easily understood
• training to be a more persuasive speaker

Phrases like “clear spoken English” or “confident communication” are powerful because they keep the focus on the benefit, not the flaw.

You can still describe your service accurately while keeping your messaging warm, respectful, and professional.

How LinkedIn Helps You Stand Out (Even with Zero Followers)

Your LinkedIn profile doesn’t need to go viral. It just needs to:

âś” Show people how you can help them
âś” Speak to the exact people who need your services
âś” Make the value of your services easy to understand
âś” Position you as a credible professional
âś” Invite people to reach out

You don’t need to post every day. You don’t even need to show your face.
Even one clear, helpful post a week is enough to start attracting curious professionals who value what you offer and are serious about investing in a coach who can help them.

Your First 3 Steps on LinkedIn (No Tech Skills Needed)

If you're starting from scratch, do these three things:

1. Write a clear headline
Explain what you do in a way that makes your ideal student think, “That’s me. I need this.”
Try:
“I help international professionals speak clearly and confidently in English.”
You can get even more specific if you want. (We talked about that in Part 1.)

2. Add a short “About” section
Tell them who you help, how you help them, and why this work matters to you.

3. Add a call to action
One line that invites them to message you:
“Want to feel more confident in meetings? Send me a message and let’s chat.”

That’s it. No fancy branding. No website needed. Just a profile that helps the right people find you.

Reminder: You Don’t Need It All Figured Out to Begin

You do not need:

• a perfect website
• a large social media following
• fancy tech or branding
• professional photos
• years of experience

What you do need is a clear explanation of who you help and a place where your future students can find you.

And right now, LinkedIn is the easiest place to make that happen.

Your Next Step

You now have all four simple steps to building an accent coaching business:

  1. Get clear on who you help

  2. Show up online in a way that fits your style

  3. Start a warm, focused email list

  4. Set up a beginner-friendly LinkedIn profile

Pick one small action and take it today. That’s how your first (or next) student finds you.
And keep moving forward — students are already out there searching for exactly what you can help them with.

These exact steps have helped the hundreds of new instructors that I’ve trained book their first paying clients.
